Description: Costume Quest is an online role playing video game based on a popular children’s television program, The Halloween Quest. It was created by Double Fine productions, a San Fransisco based independent entertainment company. In the game, the character controlled by the player acts out a typical Halloween prank in order to save their scared sibling, who is being held hostage by a creature known as “The Monster”. They can control this character by clicking on their computer keyboard or by using the mouse.
What is so great about this game? Well, let me tell you. When you start playing the game, you immediately are engrossed in the game because it starts with an animated intro sequence that quickly gets you immersed in the game’s atmosphere. The Monster is soon introduced and soon shows up on screen, terrifying both children and adults. The Monster is soon after showing chasing the children in the background, and the thrilling action begins.
The Halloween Quest shows follows the everyday life of 2 children, Aiden and Gabriel. The whole premise of the show is that they are being haunted by the Monster and every episode features a different episode for them to solve. The whole show and its characters have become very popular among many kids. They have appeared on TV shows such as The Cleveland Show and The New York Times Best Sellers list.
What is the catch? The catch is that the whole game is non-stop fun. Each of the episodes ends with a cliff hanger, but not before the kids have a chance to play some exciting Halloween mini games that are set in the background of each of the episodes. Some of these mini-games include a ghost and pumpkin carving contest, a treasure hunt, a slayer puzzle, and many more. Each of the shows has their own special theme to go along with, so there is something here for everyone.
The Monster has a special guest appearance in one of the episodes of the show. Yes, you read that right; Michael Myers will make an appearance in one of the episodes! His appearance is brief, but he does manage to give the show a unique and hilarious spin. During his appearance he mumbles about the game and mumbles some curse words that seem to rhyme very well. Some viewers have described the voice as resembling that of Myers’ famous television character, Mike Myers.
Kids will enjoy playing the Game Boy Color version of the show, while adults can enjoy playing the Game Boy Advance version. Both versions feature hand held controls which allow the player to control the characters of the game. The costume fighting game is also included with the show. The costume fighting game comes with two different characters – Mike and Mrs. Monster.
