Costume Quest is a role-playing game that is played by using costumes to defeat monsters. You can also protect allies and use your costumes’ abilities to heal them.
To acquire Costume Quest achievements, you need to complete quests, pail bashing, and find materials for the costumes. Then, you can choose which costume you want to wear. There are 16 costumes available. Each costume has a unique ability that helps you to advance. For example, the Pterodactyl costume can move trash and get blueprints. This is useful in the Witch Hunt quest.
Another costume is the Robot costume. It helps you to go through the map faster. A ninja costume is also available and is connected to the secret passageway in the arcade. In this way, you can walk in the shadows.
Besides the main story, there are also side quests. Some of these are related to the main story. Others are not.
There are 18 achievements to earn in Costume Quest. These are worth up to 250 Gamerscore. If you have a friend, you can take on a co-op. However, if you are alone, you can still earn some of the achievements.
Some of the achievements are based on the Chrono Trigger series. Other costume-related achievements are Mask-O-Raider, Binary Bouncer, and All Decked Out.
After finishing the main story, you can begin to collect collectibles and battle stamps. Once you have all of these, you can continue the quests.
You can also unlock downloadable content. Costume Quest 2 has an excellent combat system.
